I have been playing around with this as well. The last I read said something about having a 4-7% for your words, is this true or fabricated by someone to make me read their stuff?

I have to say different people have different opinions on this. Frankly speaking, I don’t really care about the keyword density that much. People care about keyword density is because they tend to write website content for search engines/spiders but not for users/human beings. I would always focus on writing for website users. Try to think, if you care about your users, would you repeat something like "sydnye hotels" on your 200 words webpage for 50 times? I bet you will not.

I always believe in keyword relevancy… but there are a lot of keywords to choose from so I don’t think we need to mispell our keywords just to be found.

It’s true that a lot of people mispelt words as they type it but I belive that being found on something thats mispelt would not lead you in a good impression.. Then website credibility comes along in the issue.

Keyword density is effective in ranking.. as how I see it. But everyone has a choice on how they wanted to be found and by what.

The various search engines, including Google,
Yahoo, and MSN Search consider keyword density as part of their search
algorithm. Each search engine has a different mathematical equation
regarding the density of keywords that is rewarded with higher search
ranking placement. There is also a different level of tolerance between
the different search engines as to the degree of density permitted
before a penalty is imposed.

Keyword density is the ratio of a keyword or key phrases to the total number of words on that page. Keyword density is an SEO term that refers to the amount of times a keyword phrase is found on your Web page. It calculates the number of occurrences and percentage density of each word in block of text or web page.

Keyword body is authentic as the accident of assertive keyword or byword in the accustomed point. Google and added aloft seek engines adopt 3-5% keyword density. keyword body should be advised for the title, subtitle, header and meta tags.

The keyword density tool is useful for helping webmasters
and SEOs achieve their optimum keyword density for a set of key terms.
